This time, I formatted but the virus was still present. I was so pissed.
Thanks ever so much for your kind help. However, there are a couple of dead links to your solution. Boxtr itself worked after at least five trials.

thank you for the post i used your program RavMOn remover it work perfectly. thanks
but i discover new virus it work similar to ravmon but this one is dangerous because it change my clock has been reset to 12/Aug/2025… i see warning shut down after 15 mins .. id scanned with NOD32 .. found out it was cause of this virus called limit.exe .. it was deleted by NOD32 Antivirus and shows file deleted and it will combe back again. but stil my ctrl+alt+del doesnt work. When I enter “cmd” in the Run box, a window titled C:\Windows\system32\cmd.com opens. And since then i cant log in2 msn messenger.
regedit not working, msconfig not working.
the virus Limit hide it self under root C:/ Limit.exe and autorun.inf, but if you check drive c:/ you can see the virus until you change the view from folder option of the hide protected operating system file check box before you see it.
I used to use mcafee total protection .. and one day this prob occured where i couldnt open the security centre so i uninstalled it .. n’ when i tried 2 reinstall .. it said .. installation couldnt complete because a required file failed to install. but i still has some existin folders of mcafee on ma pc .. but they dont appear in da add/remove option and the folders cnt b deleted as well . i then shifted to norton and liveupdate would work !
please if you can help me with the info how i will remove this malicious virus

My usb flash is infected by a virus and i dont know how to remove it. The virus duplicates my folders on my flash and hides the original folders. All the duplicate folders are executables and they are all the same size. I suspected it to be the W32/sillyFDC-Y trojan but had no luck in finding the source in my registry…HELP please.

now a days i m facing a problem i.e. whenever i clik on amy drive letters e.g (clik on d: drive it asks for chose from the program) rather than open it directly. to open it i have to type the letter d in my browser
plz help me out if any1 else is also facing or have any solution

i’ll chk it out and tell u about the progress
dar alongwith i m also facing a critical pob that whenever a strange USB (not scanned) i plug in to myu computer it displays error TEL.exe. and FOMV as well as it has also attacked on my gpedit i.e it is also not showing the full options over there so that i can manually tackle it from there bcaz after this error displays (SEARCH) option has been vanished from startup
if u ppl have any idea about it then plz let me know as i m in a thick soup

To remove this threat is easy ,
start-run type msconfig , in startup uncheck mdm.exe
reboot computer
after reboot
alt+ctrl+del in process look for ravmon or mdm press kill process
start winrar browse to c:/ and delete autorun.inf and ravmon.exe with right click .try to browse all your drives with the same way and delete the files (autorun.inf and ravmon) .restart your machine
if you miss a drive all others drives will be infected .
if you are infected and like to format you should format all partitions because a no formatted partitions will infect the others .enjoy

if any can plz solve my problem. My system is effected with a virus. the indiacations are:-
1. my search option is visible but does not work
2. Task manger option is disabled
3. My antivirus AVG 2008 is unable to run
4. my movies and movie files have are disappered.

I saw Folder Options back in my Notebook for the 1st tym after 6 mths, even b4 i restart my system. That was a Christmas present for 2008.I realy realy appreciate it.Bye
