Assigning two IP addresses to one ethernet card in Windows
Two or more IP addresses can be assigned in windows using only one ethernet card. Using Windows XP, go to Start Menu –> Control Panel –> Network Connections –> Select the local area connection you want to assign two IP addresses.
Go to Properties –> Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) –> Advanced –> In IP settings, click add and add the IP address and netmask you want to give to your windows.
Now you can access your system using both the IP addresses.

Great website you got brother…. btw i live in a hostel environment where i face time to time problems with our dial-up… is there any way you can make the admin restrict other people to prevent them from downloading??? a solution to this problem would be a great help!!!
Thanks brother for the compliments. Surely, the downloading can be restricted but for this, you have to tell me the exact network environment and what servers are you using for your network so that I may answer appropriately.

I have one qouestion?? I have one server and i need to cofigure two different netowork on our server,in two different network card, both have different DNS wehn I configure DNS on both network then computer goes on surch to find network. plz reply on my mail azsiddiqui77@hotmail.com
So whats the pros and cons of this versus using 2 nic for each ip?
The pro is that you don’t have to buy and install a new NIC just for the purpose of putting two IP addresses on one system. It’s also impossible to install 10 NICs for 10 IP addresses while one NIC can serve the same purpose very easily. The con is the bandwidth which gets divided between two or more IP addresses.
