Important Update: Microsoft has updated its OGA Tool. Now the method mentioned here will not work. Please see my latest article about New Office Genuine Advantage 2.0.48.0.

Somebody mentioned in the comments of my last article about Office Genuine Advantage that OGA has been updated by Microsoft. Today a guy named Charm has cracked the new Office Genuine Advantage tool too. The new version of the Office Genuine Advantage is 1.7.111.0.

Download the new fix from the following address:

SupremoPhantom has released a new OGA fix which works well on all the Windows Operating Systems including Windows XP and Windows Vista. Just download the zip file, unzip it and run the setup. Follow the instructions and you’re good to go.

How To Install:

Go to http://www.microsoft.com/genuine and press validate Office.
If it doesn’t validate the Office, close all your Internet Explorer Windows.
Unzip the downloaded file to your system32 folder.
It will ask whether to replace the existing file. Press Yes.
Now go to http://www.microsoft.com/genuine again and press validate Office.
Now it should validate.

(Make sure you have genuine software. This fix is given only for people who are having problems with their genuine software.)

Same with me on Office 2007. It validates OK on the http://www.microsoft.com/genuine, but on the menus of all the Office programs (Outlook, Word, etc) I still have the “Non-genuine”… even after a restart of the computer.

  Close all Microsoft Office programs
  Go to Program Files –> Microsoft Office –> Office12
  Find the file named ogalegit.dll
  Rename it to ogalegit.bak
  Open any Microsoft Office program. Now if it asks for validation again, validate again.
  Now it should be fine.

It appears as though the only thing this crack fools is the validation in internet explorer. I tried validating using firefox and it failed despite IE (32 bit) saying it was successful…

Hi!

For me it works like a charm! At least as far as I understand and can see. But it could be due to the fact that I’m using only Office 2003, probably?

Just from curiosity; Where does it show (in the applications) that Office is non-genuine?

hey guys
just wanted to say I LOVE YOU! it worked!
it fixed the annoying notifications in the top menu of word, excel etc. and all I did was apply the patch above first which caused the validation successful; then went and deleted those 2 OGA files out of 3 listed in the system32(as above)that let me delete, and renamed the last OGA file as above with .bak (as it wouldnt let me delete anyway)
and tada….. its all perfect now
mmwahhhhh! you guys are geniuses!

p.s. i have vista home and office enterprise 2007 and i have no idea about anything techie, so far so good thanks again!

okay

I first downloaded and applied the crack 1.7.111.0 above and it succesfully validated.

Then, on opening MS Word, it still had the non-genuine blahblah showing in the top menu, so I clicked on that non-genuine tab and it took me to the validate page and did so successfully – it is now no longer showing as add-ins in word or excel or even in IE actually, I checked, and Outlook also no longer shows the non-genuine blahblah thingie in the top menu, so all good so far.

Note, I went to Windows\System32 and only deleted these 2 files below.

OGAAddin

The OGAACheckcontrol is still in place in WIndows\System32

have tried everything to pass and no go. there are no additional oga files available to me to delete and i have removed the 2 directories mentioned above it will pass in ie7 or 8 but not ff or any other browser.

Same as the others … validation on Office website ok but the same irritating “This copy of Office is not genuine” still appears on the top left corner of Word, Excel or Power Point…. doesn’t work, that’s the conclusion.

Ok, now it’s working fine. The irritating message when you start office are gone. Thanks a lot guys. But I still got the annoying lite star at the system tray want get lost! Any tips how to get rid of it???
I have done the following:

downloaded and installed the crack. (Btw after validating can I delete OGAsetup.exe?)
Then I deleted OGAverify and OGAACheckcontrol from Windows/system32.

Plzzz help me!

I think you need to apply the WGA crack for that removal of the little star in the tray, as mine disappeared after I applied that one, not this OGA crack

for the OGA, however, this is how I did it today -

Downloaded above crack 1.7.111.0 and applied (be sure to do so as administrator for those using Vista, I had to anyway) and the DOS green window appeared (it will tell you if its successful and you should also get an IE page opening and telling you validation successful, both mine did)

Next, I opened MS Word (you can open any MS Office program I think to check) but noticed the annoying non-geniune tab was still showing in the menu section, so firstly I -

Clicked on the abovementioned annoying tab stating non-genuine etc., as if to validate and it actually went to the IE page again but actually showed up as ‘validation successful’ again!

So, then after rereading above I, also –

Went to windows\system32, found OGAVerify and OGAAddin (deleted these 2 ONLY but still have the OGACheckControl – not sure why but hee-hee)

TADA! It worked, whether I did it right or wrong – shrug – will see what happens when I boot up tomorrow

OMG, I sound like an expert now, LOL, but seriously just following your guide. Thanks again guys, you’re the BEST!

p.s. I am running Vista Home Premium / Office Enterprise 2007 (assume it works same for others)

just reporting back that all is still working okay here – since yesterday, no non-genuine notifications appearing anywhere on office

kungen, not sure about the trojan in WGA but it did fix my star in the tray etc. and my antivirus/spyware didnt detect anything – shrug

Thanks guys, however when I was installing the OGA I received a backdoor trojan warning from the AVG.SO BEWARE!!!

I did the same things that bad_lemon said.

1) Go to C:\Windows\System32
2) Search for OGA* files
3) 3 files should come up(if OGA installed before)
4) OGAverify.exe, OGAAddin.dll
5) Keep the OGAACheckcontrol file
6) Run the OGA crack again.
7) Check any office application to see if the OGA tab is there.

I received an error warning when the dos window was opened but still worked for me.

Platform:Vista 32bit & Office 2007

I had to Snooze my Antivirus to get the crack to run.

Also ran the WGA 1.9.9.1 fix to get rid of the blue star in Systray

OMG bad-lemon, I just did what you said and it worked, your the best lol!! I had already removed the star thing ages ago but for some reason the box when you open office word had come back saying its not genuine, so I just removed those 2 files you said and Wallah – its gone again!!

If you use the renaming trick, and disable the automatic windows update for the Windows Genuine Notification thing, it appears the star and the message also won’t show through this method.

After installing WGA 1.9.40.0, OGA 1.7.111.0 no longer makes my Office 2003 genuine. Now my Office 2003 is not genuine.

Is there any solution?

So, this is what happens when I try to validate (on Windows XP SP3 genuine for Office 2007 Enterprise): after going to the microsoft website to try and validate and after getting the “not genuine” message, and after deleting OGAverify.exe and OGAaddin.dll, as well as deleting the two folders some G’s have mentioned above, I then run the crack; the blue DOS screens comes up nicely and alas, I get a message that says “cannot find OGAverify.exe, OGAChechcontrol.dll and WGA…”. I repeated the process several times and it did not work and just gave up. Disables automatic updates but everytime I boot my computer up I get a welcome shit asking me to install WGA, but I simply click cancel. I do not get any fucked up notifications but I still want to validate the Office shit so I can download some templates.

If anyone knows how to help out on this, I’d appreciate it.

Sounds like you need to restore those deleted files, run the fix, then delete the files.

I didn’t delete anything and have had no problems – am running XP SP3 and Office 2007 Professional.

Hi

I had the OGA come up about a week ago and installed the 1.7.105.35 and it seemed to fix the problem.

I saw windows do an update this morning and the next time i opened outlook it was telling me that my Office is not genuine and has blocked out a significant amount of functionality.

I have tried the 1.7.111.0 fix and its seems to work except that office is still telling me that the version is not genuine. and still blocks the functionality.

I’m using XP with office 2007 Enterprise.

Could anyone suggest anything??

Hi Supremo Phantom

I have installed it a number of times now with the same result.

A couple of points. When i install the crack it has an error about half way through the command prompt saying it cannot find the file wgatray.exe.

Also when it goes through the validation process in explorer it says thereis a pop up window being blocked but there is no where to install activex control. So i have to manually click the validate button. which goes through and says that my Office is now valid.

does this sound right?

  Hi DanDan, I think you should first go to http://www.microsoft.com/genuine and make sure it installs the Windows Genuine Advantage tool and does not validate your Office or Windows. Then you should apply this patch to fix this problem.

I run the crack, says 1 file was copied. I delete the two OGA files in system32 and then run the fix (OGA_171110) and it says OGAsetup.exe has stopped working and then threats were detected by AVG anti-virus program. Please help me I can’t get this to work!

It works but something else I wasn’t expecting worked. I haven’t used this new fix I was on a earlier one. Somehow all the Annoying Non Genuine pop ups, star icon, Non Gen tab in office 2007 is all gone. So I have no Idea whats happened but win win for me. =D

If you are have problems deleting the OGA files (except OGACheckControl as you want to leave this file as discussed in previous posts) make sure you have all Office applications closed. I had to close outlook & excel to be able to delete them. Also I am running Office 2002 SP3 and SupremoPhantom’s file ([Link removed due to copyright issues]) worked to get rid of the blue star. I had to run the crack as well a few times as i was always getting error messages in dos prompt. I think also it best to let it install the WGA tool first. Hope this helps

@ Help:

You’ve gotta close all running instances (or processes) of AVG to get the crack to work. I had to do that myself, and here’s how:

Ctrl-Alt-Delete, select tab Processes, sort by name and shut down everything that has to do with AVG.. When I did this I had to find the right order to close AVG down because some processes restarded again very soon (almost immediately) after closing them.

Then run the crack/patch and after that is done restart your computer to get AVG up’n'running again.

Hope this works for you!

AVG resident shield tells me that this is a trojan program with the name of smallx.vx. Googling this name tells me that this is a nasty little back door which opens and downloads all kings of other nasties. As a result, I am not likely to disable the anti-virus.

Is there another way to get this patch up and running.

I did the ogalegit.bak thing you said, and now it doesn’t validate. I checked the ‘about’ section in office programs, and it now says it’s licensed to me. But the OGA system tray icon is still there. Maybe things will change once I restart.

Once again, thank you so much for this. Office Technical Support couldn’t figure out what was causing the problem and kept telling me to change my CD.

I run Windows XP and Office 2003! Your program worked without flaw! I was so pissed when, sometime in March that damn star popped up in my tray. The OGA has been counting down all along and I had about 4 days left. Thank goodness I found this thread!

I will comment that McAfee identified something in the installer as a trojan, but I had a good feeling and decided to trust it…

Every time I run oga v 1.7.111.0.crack (even the password protected copy that I downloaded from Supremo Phantom’s link above) I get a message from my Computer Associates Internet Security Suite stating that there is a trojan – Win32/Rekwoj.A. CA then deletes the torojan file and the crack installation fails.

Form the posts above I can see that others have experiences similar messsages. Some have even temporarily disabled their AV to instal the crack.

Is this a real virus/trojan?

Has anyone experienced virus related issues after having disable their AV software to allow the crack to proceed?

Thanks Sanix, i tried that and although it extracts now, when i run it my anti-virus quarantines it saying its a Trojan backdoor. it looks like a cleverly disguised virus. i tied it 3 times and same result.

  Longeeze it’s not a virus. Actually AVG and some other antivirus softwares generate false positives of this setup. Please disable your antivirus and run the setup again. Your problem will be solved and sure it’ll not hurt you

Listen, your ” Anti Virus ” software is the thing causing the problems for you. All these people using AVG and Norton and McAfee etc need to rid their computers of these so called anti virus programs and then they will see how fast their computers really are.
I have been using my work computer for over 4 years without an anti virus program and I have never got a virus.
In my honest opinion these anti virus programs just slow your computer down, restrict which emails you receive and more importantly I think they even imbed virus`s in your computer so that you have to pay their company for the solution to get rid of their virus.

There are two reasons anyone would need an antivirus program is if they visit BAD sites like porn sites. Oh I wish one day the internet would be free of that rubbish.
Another reason one might want to use one of these so called anti virus programs is if they let a child use the computer to download free games off the internet. Mind you, whenever someone types the word ” free ” in google they are virtually asking for virus`s. Too true !

I use this tool and its absolutely marvellous. Thank you Supremo. You really are a genius. It works 100%.
All you have to do is install your version of Office and then goto the validate page at microsoft and thenreboot and then check your system32 folder for the two files mentioned and if they are there just delete them ( mind you, they arent in the computers I use this tool on lately ) and then run the tool and VOILA ! El presto Supremo, gone !

the virus notification is a false positive. I tried 38 antivirus and only 2 antivirus softwares have found something.
Now office is legit !! The fix worked perfectly on a win xp pc with 0ffice2007 and on a win vista pc with office2007.

Hi all,
I have a legit copy of XP Pro and a copy of Office Pro w/- Frontpage that failed. Just reading through the previous posts I admit I’m a little bit turned around. Let me tell you what’s happened so far;
I got the star and the count down,
I’ve deleted 2 of the 3 OGAxxxx.xxx files,
I’ve run the OGAfix.
Now everything is working fine and activated but I still have the little blue star.
Do I need to go back online and re-validate to get rid of the star?
Have I missed something?
Should I just look on it as a gift from the nice people at MS and ignore it?

‘Good Riddance OGA’ how did you block the Windows Genuine Advantage notifications? I think I can block them if I know their server address using Avast but I’m not sure.

Hi Guys,

I’m aure I’ll get shot down in flames with the old remark “all virus scanners come up with false positives”, but when I’m dealing with software written or patched genuinely by hackers, I err on believing a virus scanner when it warns me that suck a crack is a backdoor installer for something nasty…

Please visit VirusTotal to view the results of running the downloaded executable through dozens of VirusScanners (it makes some interesting API calls too in the analysis.

I believe “cracks” such as thesre are a brilliant way to get zero-day viruses and trojans out into the population before the security software companies catch up and put out a virus signarure…

As always with this kind of stuff, “use at your own risk” comes very much to mind.

Hey guys, i used the crack and my Office 2007 no longer has the pop up telling me it’s not genuine. However there remain a few issues:

1) Validation for my office only works in IE but not on firefox.
2) The star icon still appears on the system tray and it’s a pain to see it.

Any idea what to do about it?

Referring to my post above, I’m just wondering if there’s any method i can remove the star in my taskbar. The star on my taskbar is black, not blue for some reason.

I’m running on Legit Windows XP Home and Office 2007. I’ve used the patch 1.7.111.0 Fix by following the instructions (deleting the 2 oga* files) and i can run Excel and Words without the notification telling me it’s not genuine.

So what do i do? Leave the star there or is there a way i can remove it? Will it do any harm if the star is left there?

Even now, still works. My copy was illegit, bought a legit copy and after reinstalling, it said it was still illegit. This fixed that.
