Microsoft’s worst decision was to install this thing called Microsoft Genuine Advantage and it has created a lot of fuss in the computer world. Sometimes even the genuine Windows or Office products will not validate against Microsoft’s Genuine Advantage program.
Microsoft has recently updated their Office Genuine Advantage crack to version 2.0.48.0. Previously it was OGA 1.7.111.0. Supremo Phantom has a combined crack for Windows Genuine Advantage and Office Genuine Advantage. That crack has got the fix for the latest version of OGA 2.0.48.0. I also use BitDefender Internet Security 2009, Yes..! the crack file discovered as trojan by bitdefender but after applying the crack my computer running normal. I also scan my computer after applying the crack but the result showing no infected at the system.
Should I uninstall this, or leave it installed after it’s worked?
It seems to work as I validated again with MS and it doesn’t say anything is wrong but I still have a screen that says “You may be a victiom of software counterfeiting……….with a blue box saying”ask for genuine Microsoft Software” on th elower right of my screen. How to I get rid of this?

I uninstalled the hack and reinstalled it. I seems to have worked now as I don’t have the counterfeit notice anymore. Now I went back to windowsupdate and it says that I need to dl XP SP2. It’s dl and installing. So far so go. Thanks

so as a conclusion there is no trojan in it but bit defender 2009 see a trojan while applying it then everything works normally. because it changes some system files.

Installed the OGA patch, seemed to install OK but when I ran windows update it now requited Vista sp2 to be installed which was installed before the fix was installed, still getting the office message sating its not a genuine version, am I doing something wrong?
Reinstalled the fix and tries again and now works like a dream, must have been finger trouble before, thanks guys

Some security software may report a virus but the crack does change something in the widows system to bypass WGA checks so that may be what other security software report as a virus. This is a good crack!

@User, I have already given the Virustotal results of this file. The file is clean. Some antiviruses mark it as a virus because it alters system files (WGA and OGA related). Otherwise the file is clean. Once it has done its work, you can scan your system for viruses and you’ll know that your system is clean.

This 5MB download is most certainly malicious.
I believe this is the best solution for now:
1. Run RegEdit
2. Find (Ctrl-F) the first key named “OGAAddin.connect”.
3. In the right pane, right-click on “Load Behavior” and select Modify.
4. Change the data value from 3 to 0.
5. Find Next (F3) and perform steps 3 and 4 for every “OGAAddin.connect” key found (one for each installed Office product)
This will disable all OGA notifications, and Windows Update will not prompt you to reinstall.

I was able to use command to delete notice but can’t, for the life of me, figure out how to find the “KB” file to hide it (now that’s it eliminated). Damn good. Works like a charm on my Windows Vista ultimate 32 bit computer. Good thing you mentioned to turn off the virus protection 1st as Mcaffe wont let it work. Hell, when I scanned the executable file it actually deleted the crack alltogether. Have seen this in other placed too.
