Some Viruses disable your gpedit.msc and you are unable to open the Group Policy Editor and also any Microsoft Management Console program.
When you open the gpedit.msc from run or services.msc you will get the following warnings.
I am listing two solution to this problem
Method 1
Download and install Microsoft Management Console 3.0 for Windows XP.
Download Microsoft Management Console 3.0 for Windows XP
Method 2
Download the Smart Virus Remover.
Smart Virus Remover (889.9 KiB, 851,382 hits)
Run it and double click on the tray icon, click on Restore Windows Default Settings
Check the box Enable gpedit.msc and click Apply. You are done

Smart Virus Remover just removes the specified viruses. No secure deletion is required for this purpose.

i am having a prob:
i have installed a kaspersky anti virus in my xp sp2 system but later i found that it has been disabled in the services.msc there i went to enable it but it say access is denied. how to fix this problem . please let me know

Which version of Kaspersky Antivirus are you using and when did you install it? Was it running before this problem occurred?
