Free System Resource Monitor For Windows

by Sanix in Software on May 5, 2009

Windows Vista has a very good gadget that shows all the resource usage by Windows. It shows information like real-time processor usage, how much RAM is used and the hard drive being used. It also tells the temperature of various components of the system. I was looking for such an integrated solution for Windows XP that does not make use of any other software like Google Desktop which I don’t like because of it resource consumption.

Today I found GKrellM which is a very good tool for monitoring system resources in real time. GKrellM is a single process stack of system monitors which supports applying themes to match its appearance to your window manager, Gtk, or any other theme.

GKrellM monitors the following components:

Hardware Sensors (Temperature, Fans and Voltages)

CPU and Processor usage in realtime.

Disk usage

Network bandwidth

Memory usage

Battery (if any)

It also shows the system name and the clock.
