Notepad2 is a freeware alternative for Windows Notepad. Windows Notepad gives a set of reduced functionaly to view txt files. Notepad2 is a simple text editor with syntax highlighting. The best use of this program is for developers because the interface of notepad2 enlists the line numbers also and depending on the file (ini,inf,vbscript.powershell,batches,css,html,php) it highlights syntaxes.
I have created a WinRar SFX that installes Notepad2 in the your Program FilesNotepad2 Folder and installes a context menu hack. So that you can open any file in Notepad2 by right clicking and then Open with Notepad2. See the snap
To remove the program delete the folder C:program filesnotepad2 and delete the registry key
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT*shellOpen with Notepad2]

I agree with Antonio, I use Notepad++ for a long time and it is the best text/script editor. It also has integrated the context menu option “Edit with Notepad++”
