Important Notes from the Developer before using the Tool:

• When choosing the path for ImageX and DISM, make sure you choose the same exe architecture (x86 or amd64) as your Windows, e.g. when using Windows 7 x64, choose the ImageX located in amd64 inside the WAIK installation.
• Always test the result in a virtual machine first.
• It is highly recommended to use 7Customizer on an unmodified (clean, untouched) Windows installation source.
• Fill the whole information in the unattended part or the setup will fail.

Known Issues:

• 7Customizer fails to read the images information correctly.
• 7Customizer might not label the ISO.
• When selecting updates, sometime you will be able to select one update only. If you select more than one update 7Customizer will crash.

Installation Instruction

You need to create a container (password protected file)

Download the setup package from the following location. After download install it.

Run SafeHouse Explorer Quick Start window will open, Click Next 3 times.

On the Create your First Storage Vault box, Click Create Storage Vault.

A new box will appear click Next. The default location container location will be C:\SafeHouse\, you can change it. Click Next.

On the Size of your Private Storage Area box set Volume Size to the amount of data you want to protect. In the first attempt I recommend you to not select a resizable container. Click Next.

In the password field give the passwords, Next.

Click on Create Volume. This will take a little bit time. You will see the previous Quick Start windows cancel it.

Now you will see your safehouse volume open. Drag any file on it to add. But it’s size must not be large as compared to the container size. Click on this button to close the volume

You can create more volumes. To mount any volume click on Open Volume and select the file. After selecting file you will see password window. Enter password and you will again see the container.

Requires Microsoft Windows:

XP, Vista, Windows 7, 32 or 64 bits.

To make a your apps to appear in the U3 platform, you need to have some software. This is because U3 program are bundled into u3p files. An advantage of bundling this program in u3p is that any virus can not infect the file.

PackageFactory for U3 converts applications to run on your new U3 USB Flash Drive free of cost. PackageFactory for U3 works best for simple programs and applications with few support files (although you can add as many supporting DLLs and other EXEs as you need).

But If there is a problem in your windows system then you could be not use your U3 for any purpose.  Some problem that could arise.

If your plug your U3 and a you see a folder opens, or the folder opens when you double click the LaunchU3.exe in the U3 system (CD Drive).

When you double click the Launchpad.exe file you are warned with

You can not run the U3 Launchpad directly. Please click on LaunchU3.exe to open the U3 directly.

This happens if you have made a registry hack to prevent running of Autorun.inf file. Open Notepad and copy paste the following

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\IniFileMapping\Autorun.inf]

save the file as mod.reg file . Double click the file and again merge the file to registry by clicking on yes.

Now restart your computer to take effect.

If you seem some more problems in the Launchpad then you could remove the launchpad.

To overcome this problem, “Close All Applications” comes to the rescue. Close All Applications is a handy little utility that keeps running in background and gets activated by a hotkey. Upon activation, it does one thing, closes all the open applications without you being involved further.

If you don’t want Close All Applications to run all the time in the system tray, another way to use this utility is to drop it in X:\Windows\System32 folder (X is your Windows system drive letter) and then access it by going to Start –> Run –> CloseAll.

This will initiate Close All Applications utility and it will close all the running apps.

If you have tried all the solutions listed on our site and still could not disinfect your system then try to manually remove the virus using the instructions below. There are five steps
Caution: While the manual process is going on do not open any My Computer drive through My
Computer

1. Process Terminination

In order to complete the
instructions below. You need to have Process Explorer and Autoruns, 7ZIP and Unlocker.
You can download them separately or download the powerexepack and install it

Close and exit all programs (even from tray) except Internet Explorer
or your internet browser.

Run process explorer by typing procexp in the start menu

Run and do as illustrated.

All the system process are collapsed in the system tree, so if you see a process like winlogon.exe in explorer tree then it is surely a virus

2. Virus File Deletion

Viruses files and small programs does not have a digital signature. You can see the the company name is blank for the process SSVICHOSST.exe

If you do see any suspicious process, Processes can be checked at http://www.processlibrary.com/

Here is an example, some viruses are running on the computer.

Now next step is the deletion of virus files.

Right click on any of the virus process then properties. In the path: field copy the path. Now switch to the procexp interface. you can use ALT+TAB to switch b/w different windows.

Note that non-Microsoft processes have Verify button grayed out in the properties box.

In the File Menu –> Run

Type this carefully

unlocker.exe “[FileName With Path]” /d

e.g unlocker.exe “D:\new\explorer.exe\explorer.exe” /d

You may be prompted, In No action select delete and OK

This command will terminate the virus and delete its file

Use the command on all the one by one processes except for the Microsoft processes ( in procexp it shows Microsoft Corporation in company name column  )

3. Files deletion from the root of drive

The second step is deleting files. If you have installed powerexe, Start Menu–> 7-ZIP–> 7-ZIP File Manager which will show you all hidden files and go through the root path of every drive

Delete  autorun.inf and all files like

ravmon.exe, smss.exe,Funny UST Scandal.exe,explorer.exe

But do not delete these files as these are system files

autoexec.bat, boot.ini, bootmgr,config.sys, io.sys, msdos.sys, ntdetect.com, pagefile.sys,ntldr, hiberfil.sys,,xeldr,gdrop

Go to each drive and delete these files from root

4.  Removal of startup entries

Now you have successfully terminated virus process the next thing is to remove those virus files which run upon system start.
Open Autoruns by typing autoruns in the Run Dialogue. Wait while refreshing completes.

In the Options –> Hide Microsoft Entries. And click Refresh button on the interface OR Close the program and start again

After scanning completes select Logon tab and uncheck all the entries be sure do not unselect any Microsoft Entry.

5. Restoring Windows Default settings

Troubleshooting

Incase of any problem. you did a wrong move. Open Autoruns, in the Options –> Unselect Hide Microsoft Entries. And click Refresh button on the interface OR and select all entries .Close the program and start your system again.

By installing Windows from USB Drive you can save time. Because it will be installed in just 15 minutes. Also you can install the Windows on a PC which does not have DVD Drive.

You must have a motherboard that should support USB Boot feature to make use of the bootable USB drive.

You must also have a 4GB or larger USB drive. Backup it contents before proceeding

• Open elevated Command Prompt. To do this, type in CMD in Start menu search field and hit Ctrl + Shift + Enter. Alternatively, navigate to Start –> All programs –>Accessories –> right click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
• Enter the following command:

         diskpart and hit enter. Wait

         list disk and hit enter.

• list disk command will show the all the disk number, Note the number of your disk by seeing the size and free space, Be sure otherwise you may damage your system.
• In this step you need to enter all the below commands one by one and hit enter. As these commands are self explanatory, you can easily guess what these commands do.

          select disk 4 ( Here my disk is 61 Mb, Do not worry this is just example case)

          clean

          create primary partition

          select partition 1

          active

          format fs=ntfs

          assign

          exit

• Don’t close the command prompt, Just minimize it.
• Insert your Windows DVD in the optical drive
• Note down the drive letter of your optical drive and Flash Disk.
• Go back to command prompt and execute the following commands:

        I: (Where “I” is your DVD drive letter)

        cd boot and hit enter

        bootsect.exe/nt60 k:   (Where “k” is your USB drive letter)

• Close the command prompt and now Copy Windows DVD contents to USB.

Now you have created a bootable USB drive containing windows installation. Be sure to set USB drive as the 1st boot priority device to start installation.

Many times when I download videos from youtube though Youtube Downloader or Free YouTube Download these are in parts ending with name like part 1 or 1/2. I searched on the internet how to join these. I came up with a program Avidemux open source program available for multi platforms. It can join any video files in seconds. Because it does not recode all the video unlike other video editing programs.

This program can be used for cutting, filtering and encoding tasks. It supports many file types, including AVI, DVD compatible MPEG files, MP4 and ASF, using a variety of codecs. Tasks can be automated using projects, job queue and powerful scripting capabilities

To join two or more files.

To join two videos, they must have same resolution otherwise they will not join without cropping

Simply drag or open any video file. If you see any warning for safe mode click no. If you see any warning for Index click yes. You will see the video has been opened Now in the File Menu click Append. Select the other file. Open it you will now get the mixed video on the interface. If you want to join more files then again Append them.

In the Format select FLV or MP4 depending on the source video format. Click Save and type the name of the new file with its format (otherwise you will have to manually give the format from explorer.)

 You are done.

I have created a WinRar SFX that installes Notepad2 in the your Program Files\Notepad2 Folder and installes a context menu hack. So that you can open any file in Notepad2 by right clicking and then Open with Notepad2. See the snap 

To remove the program delete the folder C:\program files\notepad2 and delete the registry key

But some formats have been provided to maintain high quality videos in small sizes. In the technique i am explaining you can reduce avi file sizes while maintaining the same quality.

I have used this technique to reduce size of fraps records movies.

Bitrates

Fraps movies consume 9.5Mb/sec (1024×768) 1 min movie 570 MB
With Xvid codec Compression 357KB/sec (1024×768) 1 min movie 21 MB

You must have installed K-lite Mega Codec Pack and Virtualdub.

The K-lite Mega Codec Pack installs the Xvid MPEG-4 Codec. Which Will be used in this technique

Run Virtualdub and drag your avi file to this window. In Video tab select Compression. In the new box select Xvid MPEG-4 Codec and OK.

Now in the File Menu select Save As and click Save in the new window.

The dub will start. If you want the dub to process the file faster you could uncheck the Show Input Video and Show Output Video.

The Virtualdub supports batch file processing so you can queue a bundle of files and compress them. If something is wrong or missing, let me know

You need to open the elevated command prompt to do this

In the start search box type cmd and you will see cmd and right click and on this file and then select Run as administrator, click Yes.

Disable Hibernation

In the elevated command prompt, type powercfg -h off and press Enter.

Now you have disabled the hibernation. Close the cmd

Enable Hibernation

In the elevated command prompt, type powercfg -h on and press Enter. You are done

For example the Windows Installer Service is executed when you install some program made with Windows installer.

1. Set these Services to Manual

In the start search bar type services.msc and press enter.

To set any service to disable or manual, double click on any service and in start type list select the Manual or Disable

NOTE: Always set the service to MANUAL, never disable it, so that whenever Windows needs to start a service it can easily start and use it. If you set any service to DISABLED, Windows will not be able to start it and will give some error messages.

2. Disable Some Tasks (Task Scheduler )

In the start search box type task scheduler to launch it.

On the left hand side expand Task Scheduler (Local) -> Task Scheduler Library -> Microsoft -> Windows. Now point to the following folders. When you click on a folder the tasks get loaded and then you will see a screen where different tasks will be showing. Right click and then disable them.

First disable Windows File Protection using WFPS10.exe

Open “%windir%\System32\Shell32.dll” file in Resource Hacker and go to:

Dialog -> 1020 -> 1033

Now replace the existing code in right-side pane with the code present in following file:

Click on Compile Script button.

You’ll also have to replace existing AVIs in the file with new ones. Download following Zip file and extract it:

After extracting the Zip file you’ll get 3 AVI files. Replace existing AVIs in shell32.dll file with these new ones in following manner:

AVI -> 160 ->1033 with 160.avi

AVI -> 161 ->1033 with 161.avi

AVI -> 162 ->1033 with 162.avi

AVI -> 163 ->1033 with 162.avi

AVI -> 164 ->1033 with 162.avi

In the Resource Type type AVI

In the Resource Name type respective name e.g 162,163 etc

In the Resource Language type 1033. See the figure for more detail

And also download a BMP file from here:

After extracting the BMP file from it, add it at 404 location in file. Just click on Action -> Add a new resource and then click on Open file with new resource button. Select the downloaded BMP file and click on Open. Now in Resource Name enter 404 and in Resource Language enter 1033 and click on Add Resource button.

Restart Windows to take effect.

If something gets wrong then you can undo the changes. Simply navigate to windows system32 folder and delete shell32.dll and rename shell32_original.dll to shell32.dll

I have now come up with a little utiltiy that allows you to change the logon for Windows 7,  Logon Changer

You can select any image as logon with this utility. Change Logon Screen button allows you to select any image but it should match the screen size properly. For example for a widescreen monitor you should select a widescreen image.
