How to Use Snapchat On PC (With And without Bluestacks)

If you do not have an Android or iOS mobile device then you may think that you cannot use Snapchat. This is not the case. You can use Snapchat on your PC with Windows with and without the Bluestacks emulator application.

The creators of the popular Snapchat app never created a version for desktop and laptop computers. Therefore, people that prefer to use a PC have to use workaround’s to install it and use it. So, in this article we will show you how you can get Snapchat up and running on your Windows PC using Android emulators.

1. Installing and Using Snapchat on your PC with Bluestacks

Bluestacks 4

The following method is for a PC that uses Windows 10. If you have Windows 7 or 8 then you can use this method too with success. Bluestacks is probably the most popular Android emulator application out there.

If you want to use Bluestacks on your PC to run many Android apps then you will need a desktop or laptop that has a fair amount of power. In this article, we are just focusing on Snapchat, which will not consume significant resources.

The first step is download Bluestacks on your PC. Here is the download link. Bluestacks is a large download and it might be over 1 GB so it could take a while depending on the speed of your Internet connection.

Now you are going to download Snapchat from within Bluestacks. Go to the “App Center” tab and then search for “Snapchat”. You will need to login to the Google Play Store with your Google account details.

You will see a paragraph about the hardware necessary to make Snapchat work properly. If your desktop or laptop falls short of these resources then we do not recommend that you download it. We are going to assume that you have the necessary resources.

Use the download link where you can download the Snapchat app and install it. It is quite common to experience some problems such as crashes when you are setting up Snapchat using Bluestacks. Do not concern yourself with these problems, as Bluestacks 4 (the latest version) should resolve these issues automatically.

3. Ko Player for many versions of Windows

One of the best things about the Ko player is that it will work with a lot of Windows versions without the need for a huge amount of computing resources. You can install Ko Player on Windows XP, Vista. 7, 8, 8.1 and 10. Please bear in mind that you may experience a mediocre performance compared to using Bluestacks or Nox Player.

The first thing that you need to do is to install the Ko Player on your PC. Go here to download the Ko Player. Once you have Ko Player installed on your PC open it and look for the google Play Store link. Go to the Play Store and use your Google account credentials to log in.
