You can download Microsoft Office 2010 and use it free for up to 30 days. After the trial period expires, Microsoft Office 2010 has to be purchased in order to use it.
What if you can extend the trial period and use it for up to 6 months? Today I want to write about rearming Microsoft Office 2010 so that it can be used beyond the trial limit of 30 days.
When the trial period of 30 days is about to expire, just run command prompt with elevated permissions and then go to the following folder:
C:Program FilesCommon Filesmicrosoft sharedOfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform
Open OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform and click the tool named OSPPREARM from the above folder and it will extend the trial of Microsoft Office 2010 by 30 days. You can use this rearm technique 5 times in total making the total days to run the trial to almost 6 months.
Another method: Go to Start Menu –> Find command prompt (cmd), right click it and select Run as Administrator. My command prompt goes blue when I run it as administrator. Not sure whether it’s the default behavior or specific to me only.
